SAUSAGE SANDWICHES

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 large onion, sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
1-1/2 tsp all-purpose flour
¾ cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons catsup
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
1-1/2 lbs Italian or Polish sausage cut into ¼-inch slices
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 (8 to 10 inch) French rolls

Melt butter in a large skillet.  Add onion and garlic; cover and cook over
medium heat 10 minutes, stirring often.  Remove cover and cook an
additional  20 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Stir in flour; cook 1 minute,
stirring occasionally.  Gradually add broth, cook over medium heat until
thickened and bubbly.  Stir in catsup, mustard and horseradish.  Remove
from heat; set aside.

Brown sausage in oil in a skillet over medium heat; remove from skillet and
drain well.  Stir sausage into mustard sauce.  Split French rolls; spoon
sausage mixture over roll bottoms, cut rolls in half and serve.
